My son is 9 and is getting a skin test (120) for allergies. He had it done over 5 years ago and doesn't remember. How painful is it and how long does the pain last. What can we expect at the appt?? I don't remember either.
Thank you~

Answer:
I got the same test done. I had to lay on my stomach, get all the scratches done, then he left for 5 minutes. It didn't take long for me to realize I was allergic to somthing! The pain wasn't getting all of the scratch tests done, it was afterward. The test itself felt like a toothpick was touching my back . I am very allergic to a lot of things and had a lot of itching and swelling on my back afterwards. But they did rub my back down with an anti-itch cream and I was fine 2 hours later.

Answer:
It isn't painful much at all. I had one done on my arm, and since it showed I was allergic to dogs, cats, all grasses, trees, etc., they wanted to do another one on my back where they get a better reading. It was fine.

Answer:
it isn't too painful just like being poked a lot…
