May
Several months ago I was itchy in bed and stopped using a body spray after showering and was OK
Then two nights ago I removed my sheets to wash them but forgot to replace them so I got into bed last night with a big comforter beneath me and a huge comforter over me and no pillowcases and I was itchy again
I have used the same comforters for a year and have not been itchy except for the times mentioned.
Could I be allergic to the mattress (the other night my fitted sheet flipped off the corners and I was exposed to it and last night there was no fitted sheet cos I only used the duvet over the mattress.
Duvets and pillows are feather filled and as I say I’ve not been itchy except for those two times. I’ve a cat but I am not allergic to her and she is not allowed on the bed
All this is a puzzle because I can't fins the common denominator for the two times I have itched so much I have the ability to hardly sleep.
I’m now using a perfume free detergent but nothing I have laundered
Answer:
Many people are allergic to some of the many materials and chemicals used to manufacture mattresses, I would advocate spending a few dollars on a nice mattress cover. Even though, most mattresses today are hypo-allergenic, that doesn't mean that you can not be allergic to them.
Answer:
Because it is happening at night……I would suspect dust mites. It is very possible that you’re allergic to dust mites. These are NOT bed bugs. These are microscopic creatures that collect in our bedding. They’re the most common form of indoor allergen and are second only to pollen as a world-wide cause of allergy suffering. I am going to give you some links to read. The first tells you all about the dust mite, the second tells you how to set up your bedroom, and the third is about this stuff you use to wash the sheets to get the mites out of your bedding. In addition, use laundry detergents with no enzymes as they can cause itching.
