we have 3 cats at home and my husband and i are not allergic to cats, what are the chances that our first child will be allergic?

Answer:
Not definitely. Babies are born with barely any immune system, they build it up in the first few days of life; that's why breast milk is so important.
Some people say allergy genes are recessive but no one in my family has any allergies that are bad but I'm anaphylactic to peanuts and am allergic to some other things.
I wouldn't worry because cat allergies are fairly uncommon.

Answer:
if both you and your husband have a ressecive gene then its possible but unlikely

Answer:
To my best of knowledge, cat allergies are not too common. However, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
