I seem to get a lot of sinus infections/upper respitory infections. I was wandering if there was a way to prevent it from occuring? I also get a lot of ear infections as well so is there a way to prevent ear infections?
Answer:
The best thing to do is to boost your immune system. Drink water, get enough sleep, exercise, eat healthy foods, etc. Cover your ears when it's cold outside. Use hand sanitizer or wash hands often, especially when exposed to people with colds, etc. Take vitamins, and avoid areas where people smoke.
Answer:
upper RTI can only be prevented by protecting oneself from cold and ear infection can be treated by xylometazoline HCL nasal drops and certain antibiotics.
Answer:
My doctor has me on several allergy medications. Like you, I use to get plenty of sinus infections and upper respiratory infections. About 1 of the 2 at least every 3 months. This is more pain than anyone needs. I found that lying to my doctor and telling him I was using my nose spray just wasn't cutting it. I was taking the oral pill, but not the nasal stuff. He knew I was lying for the most part because my nasal passages were not inflamed like most peoples when they take it.
He somehow convinced me to use it twice daily and it has helped me sooo much. I also found that the area I lived had a major effect on it. For example, I would take a weekend trip to a nice wooded area or to a nice place and my acne, allergies, and about everything else stopped. If you live in a place, such as the heart of Houston or some other smog filled town, get out of there and feel the difference. All I have to say is listen to your doctor, and protect yourself from unnatural things in the air. I know that by the time I am 40 I plan on living way up north to hopefully avoid the illegals and the pollution.
