Lactose intolerant?

Author: admin

What are some of the symptoms of being Lactose intolerant?

Answer:
Diahrrea, gas, or stomach upset within 24 hours after having a milk product. Sometimes milk products also cause headaches and acne but I'm not sure if that is related to the lactose or something else in milk. It's not the same as an allergy and some people are allergic. Allergic symptoms would be more like hives or itchy throat.

The best way to tell if you have it is to go without it for a few days and see if your digestion improves in some way.

Fortunately there are tons of milk alternatives out there. Rice milk tastes better than soy milk by the way.

Even if you are lactose intolerant, it doesn't mean you can never have milk. For most people, they just have to keep it to something like a maximum of 1 cup in a 24-hour time span. There are some people who can never have it though.

Some milk products are easier to digest than others like yogurt and certain cheeses. If you have it, read up on it. It's not that big of a deal.

Answer:
abdominal cramping and diarrhea after ingesting dairy products. You could try "lactaid" milk or tablets and see if that helps.

Answer:
cramps, gas, throwing up, dizziness, diarrhea

I'm lactose intolerant. I cannot drink straight milk… I miss milk shakes. I can eat most cheeses with minimal problems. And yogurt has an enzyme in it that breaks down the lactose. So no problem there.

I, oddly enough, was allergic to the lactaid pills :)
