yahoo answers state hives are really hazardous and I understand that! however can they really suffocate on your neck?

I used clean and clear continuous control acne cleanser the night before. the next morning I had hives on my face and chest. the next day (today) they were a little worse, just now i noticed they spread to my stomach. so should i be worried? im in college should i go to the nurses at our health center or wait for the doctor tomorrow?

also my blood sugar dropped twice today, which isn’t normal, is it because of the allergic reaction? (im a type 1 diabetic)

Answer:
Ok first of all don't panic, I know everyone else here’s telling you to run to the physician.
Firstly you did the right thing by taking benadryl as it will help, it wont make the hives disappear, but it will help stop adverse reactions.
Secondly hives aren't always dangerous, in fact they’re very common! I had a bad break out a few months ago when I put on a body lotion that disagreed with me badly, was the first time i'd ever had hives, they were spread down my legs back, chest, neck etc! They itched like hell! But no, while they stuck around for 2 weeks, they never “suffocated me” And I also took benadryl to help cope with them.
So just relax, you aren't going to die or anything even remotely like that, you're just going to itch, go to the nurse when you can, she has the ability to give you some stuff to help it if the itching is too bad, but seriously, don't worry about it :) There's nothing worse than reading up on the internet about something that says “quick, go to the physician asap! I'm worried, etc” especially when most the people who type these things aren't medically qualified professionals or anything. And even the medical websites you read about on the web, usually only speak about the worse case scenarios.
As for the diabetic stuff, I don't have to lecture you about that, you know your normal blood sugar levels, and if they continue to remain low, then yes that’s justification for going to the doctor who can also recommend the best treatment.

Answer:
go immediatly to the nearest emergency health care provider if you have trouble breathing, facial swelling, or swelling of your toungue.
Don't be worried about the hives for now. . .I advocate you see a physician to find out what you are allergic to. If the hives get any worse go see a doctor asap.

Answer:
You might want to check with the nurse tomorrow, but the cause of hives is often hard to pin down. It could be a result of the use of the acne cleanser, but I doubt that it's serious. Nevertheless, do get checked out by a health care professional. Good luck.

Answer:
Go to the physician right now, and have you discontinued the stated product? I thought allergy symptoms dissipate once the allergen is removed? Why are you still reacting 24 hours later. Anyway sweetie don't chance it go to the physician ASAP.

Answer:
Yes, please go and be seen by doc-the fact they are spreading and not going away and your a diabetic-your health is your wealth-can't do a thing without it. Get yourself checked out. I wish you the ideal.

Answer:
I would go now to see a nurse/doctor. Just to check. If you don't go you'll be nervous and worrying.

Answer:
Please go the the health center right away!!

Answer:
