So my father is 67 years old and he has a bad heart and is a diabetic , for a few years now he has had a thing were anything he eats he just starts coughing and coughing and then he states he's just allergic to whats in the food and today and last night he was just coughing like crazy he has like mucus i guess coming up or getting stuck in his throat..and back to the coughing after he eats , he'll eat lets say a hamburger or something and then about 10 min.'s later he’s coughing and coughing non stop i tell him not to eat so fast but he just gets mad when i say it : and when he starts coughing so much that it gets annoying i do admit to yelling to him to go get a drink.My Dad is pretty fit he doesn't look 67 he looks 45 but i just don't understand why he won't go to the doctor all he keeps saying is that “all they have the ability to do is cut you up and radiation” I feel like he isn't telling me anything , I'm not sure if he has stomach cancer or throat cancer..
I’ve no idea i don't know what to do anymore..
His symptoms are :
Coughing after eating anything
Coughing spit coming up
watery eyes.
AND NO! this is not a cold it's been going on for years.

That sounds like a definite case of severe acid reflux. It causes horrible choking and coughing episodes, with watery eyes and everything. He needs to get on some kind of meds for GERD like Prilosec or something. I have it too, and it is a horrible thing to deal with.
Oh yeah, and if you leave it untreated, it can cause cancer of the esophagus.

im really sorry to hear this first of all. Im no genius but you’ll have to convince something is wrong whether he feels it or not. If your father does not want to go to the physicians or a hospital, get a radio physician to come to your home instead to diagnose if something is wrong. I really hope he gets superior.
