Ever since september, if i don't have sugar(candy) each few hours, i get really dizzy and tired. For the past few days, i've come home from school and fallen right asleep for hours. I’ve a really bad head cold with coughing sneezing headache and all that. Should i go get blood work done to see if i have a disease? (mono, diabetes…)

Oh im only 14 years old too.

Answer:
Yes, definitely see your physician and tell him what your symptoms are. This isn’t normal. Dizziness isn’t normal, nor is the fatigue. I think you might have diabetes, but your physician can find out pretty easily with a easy blood test.

I used to crave sugar back before I was diagnosed. I’ve type 2 diabetes. Sugar cravings can be a sign of diabetes, so can fatigue, dizziness, blurred vision, headaches, thirst, and frequent urination, extreme hunger, unexplained weight loss or gain, etc.

With type 1 you usually get very sick, very fast. With type 2, you can go without symptoms for over a decade. Its a very sneaky disease.

Get it checked out - good luck!

Good luck!

Answer:
You should get off the sugar! Sugar raises your blood glucose level and then it crashes low. The highs and lows make you feel lousy. Try slowly slicing back on sweets and try protein instead when you are feeling lethargic.

Answer:
Eat balanced meals at regular times, lose the sugar. All carbohydrates turn into sugar. Check your blood sugar.
