Medicare won't touch me until I am 62 or 65!! I should be so lucky as to be able to sign up now!
Talk to your doctor and see if you can't get the lower cost meds like at Sams/WalMart. This will help with the daily costs. You can also go to http://www.aventis.com and see if you qualify on their assistance program. Then there is peoples prescription service that helps some people. Churches also have community outreach programs.
Try again and again for the SSI.
Answer:
There is little or no free health care available in the United States. Most areas of the country have Federally Qualified Health Centers and Rural Health Care centers that will charge fees on a sliding scale based on your income. You should seek places like that out for you future health care needs.
Your best bet is to seek out a medical social worker who will be able to connect you with various services in your area. Try the health department or medicaid office to find out how to get in touch with one.
Good Luck
