what are some problems you’ve with the pump? right about now, summer time, i get a lot of customer complaints about water-proof cases, can't keep insulin cool enough during the day, can't go swimming w/ CGM sensors.

what are your issues, if any, and do you’ve any suggestions on how to improve them?

Answer:
Thanks for asking this question! I've been diabetic for 40 years, and I've had my pump for over 2 years now, and I just disconnect when going in water. I love having the pump, but if it were smaller it would be great!

Since the insulin is only in the pump for a couple days, temperature isn't an issue. Insulin can be out of refrigeration for up to a month.

Most pump users I know have learned to deal with the inconveniences because the advantages to your health far outweigh them. When I was first getting used to it I googled pump support groups and found lots of little tips. It's also a great way to vent and find others who comprehend.

I don't really have water issues…I just disconnect and don't worry about it. My main issue is that I wish the overall pump were smaller. It protrudes so much under clothing and is so obvious, and it's hard to get a good night's sleep when I'm constantly having to move it around because it's too bulky. If there was a way to have a longer, thinner reservoir to make the pump slimmer (even if the overall size were bigger but thinner), that would make my pump life much better. And a carb values directory would be helpful too. Otherwise I love it…you'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands.

My sister is on a pump, and she just disconnects it when she takes a bath or goes into the pool.

As for the problem with tossing and turning and having it hurt, we got pump pouches from Collins Creations. They were apparently designed for their daughter who has been on the pump for four years now, and they're quite fashionable. I've put their site below.

I got mine less then two weeks ago and I disconnect with contact of water. It is annoyingly large and it restricts you a bit to moving and being really rough.

Lately, when I having been changing sets the quickserter thingy has been stuffing up so I have had a few unnecessary pokes which really really injured. But hey, it should get superior yes???
