Jeez this is NOT easy…Don't have any ciggies or tobacco, have never (save for hospital emergencies) gone so long without a smoke!
Yes I know it is a disgusting habit, it stinks, has a devastating effect on skin, hair and complexion, blah blah blah….but I never expected the physical symptoms to be so strong!
Would love to give them up totally, but at the moment I have such a longing.
Any recommendations?
Answer:
Smoke free for 23 years. It is very difficult. I almost went crazy - I needed to do something with my hands. I “smoked” drinking straws. It really helped. Looked a little weird but if you consider it, people often have drinking straw in their mouths. The nicotine patch is helpful to many as is the gum - but you despise gum so try the patch. Given your very powerful physical symptoms, I strongly encourage you to get the patch. You’ll get nicotine & the dose is gradually decreased. You can do this - it takes sheer grit. Good luck to you, my friend.

give yourself a tiny more time. Its harder than heck to give up smoking cold turkey like you’re doing, you’ve made it this far don't give in to the cravings now.It took me four days to start to feel superior, but I made it for two years without a cigarette and unfortunately,i ended up having one and it led to me smoking again and its so much harder this time around trying to quit.Try to find some other good habit that can help you take your mind off of it,like going for a walk or calling a friend or someone who has quit before for support.Just stick in there, you made it this far,you can definitely do it.

You know, magidge, I'd have to go by the old, “Quitters never win” w/ this one. Everyone's gotta have a hobby, after all.
Since you've mentioned that you're both a bit 'out of the way' & 'out of supplies', I'd cautiously recommend paging through the ol' address book & locating a city-friend who'd be kind enough to UPS/FedEx you. Both services offer next day delivery, so really you'd only have to deal w/ the bitter agony that is nicotine withdrawal for another 24 hrs or so.
After that amount of time, I'm certain that the scratch that smoke'll give your lungs'd be divine.

OM–I know what you’re going through–I took a lot of showers–drank a lot of water with lemon in it–sucked a lot of lollies and yelled at every one and everybody I could think of…. Good for you mate that you’ve gone on the hog with the fags!!!!!!
You are going to experience the withdrawl syptums–it is normal–keep working at it–the first 36 hours are the hardest and then after a week you'll feel better!!
Answer:
Use patches - takes away the craving. I bought mine on ebay, much cheaper an you dont have to go out an get them. I found giving up easy but the hardest part is sticking to it.I felt very fatigued at first, but food now tastes so dam good! My taste buds are alive again. I have saved loads of money and am gonna treat myself to a nice holiday soon. With the patches you’ve helplines that you can contact as well if you get 'weak'.
YOU CAN DO IT - PUT YOUR MONEY IN A JAR.

Picking up a hobby is the key, Xbox live/Computer games? Not a gamer? Get out there join an Intramural, basketball/flag football/Frisbee, it will probably be fun to get out and doing something again.
Answer:
you need to keep your hands busy and your mind off of smoking.
Rub one out each time you crave a smoke. Your mind will be off smoking and your hand will be busy. After all is done. You'll be a happy man
