Hi All..I had a liver function test a while back and it was just about normal, just the sgpt and sgot were a little above normal but not much, the problem is that i am having urinating problems,i am drinking a lot of water but when i go to urinate it does not come out fully,at least thats the feeling i get and i have a tingling sensation throughout, what shall i do?

Answer:
According to the symptoms it can be one of two things.

1 An infection of the urinary tract

2. Rarely a stricture. Symptoms do not appear suddenly but gradual

Confirmation is by doing a urine culture and/or other investigations.

It is superior to treat as an infection, if not visiting a doctor now

Management

-plenty of fluids

-an antibiotic

OTC antibiotics might not be available in your country

If unable to contact a doctor, recommended

Norfloxacin 400 mg twice a day 5 to 7 days

If there were similar past episode urine culture and antibiotic sensitivity testing essential

Answer:
Your liver function should not cause problems with urination. In fact it would be very rare that if that was the cause and effect, you should have died soon after birth.

A rare genetic disorder called autosomal recessive polycystic kidneys disease would be about the only link. Most children born with this die in a few months as kidneys fail, and lesions appear on the liver.

In short, your urination issue is most likely independent of your liver issue.

You should go get checked by a specialist in this area. Could be as simple as uni nary track infection, STD, or enlarged prostate. Or many things worse, kidney issues of prostate cancer.
