Can I die from strep throat?

I started coughing a lot at school and my throat started hurting. I went home early eith a temp of 100.5. Now, I have a runny nose and sneeze a lot. I keep coughing and my throat hurts sooooo bad! I have red dots on my tongue but my mother says thats just the irratation from the fever, im not sure. If it IS strep throat, could I die?

Probably not, but you do need some medical treatment. Even if there's nothing the physician can do (which is doubtful, they’ve a pill for everything these days), at least you have the peace of mind of a professional opinion.

In general fevers are a sign of a serious infection, but as long as it stays below 103 you'll be okay. Higher than that, get to the emergency room.
