just asking… STILL SAD…

Answer:
Obsessive compulsive can run with depression, but OCD tendencies are that of repetition - such as washing the hands, counting everything continually….

I vote Bi Polar Depression in this case.

I say this because he was obviously depressed.

The issues he’d with not sleeping and doing ten million things at once can be massive signs of manic behavior.

Permiscuity,self medicating…..

Many people mistakenly think manic behavior is strictly meant as “Violent” across the board - not true. The manic can vary in levels. There are a few levels of Bi Polar with Type one being the worst.

It can even be applied to people who burn themselves out by doing too much then fall into a slump of severe depression.

“Crash and Burn” as I would label it.

One of the largest largest components and problems of the manic phase is restlessness and insomnia. It brings on irritibility, restlessness, fatigue and if it goes on long enough it affects one's physical health.

There’s the “Hypomanic” phase which is where most patients are mildly euphoric and overly productive. Unfortunate part is the Hypo can go into Hyper if not maintained.

If you cannot sleep properly, the body can’t repair and prepare for the next day's tasks. This is why they have used antidepressants and sleep aids with Fibromyalgia.

I’ve been taught that the ideal treatment for someone with bipolar is to prevent the Manic from starting to begin with. Usually a mood stabilizer is given for this part of the illlness.

An antidepressant is also given to treat the depressive side of this illness. In a lot of cases sleeping aids are added along with anti anxiety.
