She had 2 liver transplants 2 weeks ago. The first liver didnt work but the second one did. She still has tubes all around her but the doctor decided to move the mouth tube from her 3 days ago. She then had a low blood count and now one of the tubes is infected. (She had a liver transplant because she had liver disease not because she drank alcohol)
Answer:
One of the functions of the liver is to make elements needed for red blood cells formation and that explains her low blood count. Which tube is infected, the one in her lung or in her abdominal cavity?
Usually after a major surgery for organ transplants the patient was given anti-rejection drugs that suppress his/her immune system and thus predispose him/her to opportunistic infections (pneumonia, TB, etc). Antibiotic therapy might be added now.
She is very lucky to have a 2nd liver transplants!!
Good luck!
