I'm a tiny nervous. I’ve a 7mm kidney stone and worried that the lithotripsy won't be successful or that the small pieces will clump together on the way down the ureter. Is the lithotripsy usually successful? Is it really painful afterwards?
Answer:
My husband had this same procedure a few years ago. I’m not going to lie, it did injured and when he passed the stones there was a lot of blood. But, you have to get them out. His kidney was shut down for a few days before the doctors realized what was going on and that is even more hazardous. They’ll give you some really good pain meds…take them!!! Good luck to you! You'll be fine.
