Pain when passing urine?

Author: admin

I was diagnosed with a 'full blown' UTI in January this year and was given a course of antibiotics to clear it. The symptoms lessened, but didn't go away fully. I went back to the doc and they rechecked my urine but only a few white blood cells showed up so they stated it was nothing to worry about. Almost 3 months later and I am still experiencing pain when I pee, but my urine tests are showing up clear. I suspected it might have been an STI so i went for testing and the swabs came back clear.

Any ideas what the problem might be? Have any of you experienced anything similar? I try to drink plenty of fluids each day, lots of water and cranberry juice.
I'd really appreciate any advice.
I can't live like this!

Is the pain that you’re having right below as a stinging sensation or is it like a spasm pain internally when you go?
Have you treated yourself for a yeast infection sometime it can really hurt to pee if you’ve one it doesn't always show up on the swab especially if you’ve an internal over growth of it . It can happen in the bladder, bowel etc. Lots of yogurt is a great cure for an internal imbalance Acidophilus is a pro biotic that you can find in some yogurts or as a supplement capsule you can take. It helps to balance your good bacteria growth so you don't grow too much.
You can also over clean yourself . Do you use a body wash to clean there or over wipe? Sometimes soap left behind or accidentally pushed up there can leave the urethra inflamed thus the painful pee. Do you have lots of baths or showers sometimes baths can be the problem!

Have you had a ultra sound done?
Maybe there is issue with your urethra.

Answer:
If I were you, I would ask your doctor for a referral to a urologist. You may be having bladder spasms, blockage or constricture in the urinary tract somewhere, or an infection that needs a urine culture to identify. A urologist will perform the necessary tests to find out why you're having pain.

Answer:
Go back to the physician and tell them that you’re still in pain & this is bothering you. If they won't further investigate your problem, than find a new physician or see a urologist.

Stress can also cause UTI-like symptoms..My poor fiance pee'd a thousand times and was swabbed tons, and when no UTI or STI was found they chalked it up to either stress or the fact he drinks coffee and soda daily..

Absolutely see a urologist, if your still in pain, than this is still an active problem!

Also, make sure they aren't blowing off finding nitrites in urine either– my physicians office tried to this to me once, but I had taken a home UTI test and it came out positive for nitrites. My physician was about to send me home without antibiotics and I asked her about the Nitrites & she looked me like I was nuts, stated “No we didn't find any” and then rechecked the test slip, and said “Oh, wait we did, you have a UTI, sorry..”
