can not eating cause you to vomit blood?

i have heard that it can cause it because the lining of your stomach starts to get eating away at, and that's why you vomit blood.. is this true?

what else can cause you to vomit blood if this is false?

Answer:
When there’s erosion or ulceration of the mucosal surface (lining cells) of stomach, it exposes the underlying tissue which contain numerous blood vessels. These vessels can rupture and cause blood in vomiting.

There are many causes of vomiting blood such as ulcers, different drugs effect, overdose of alcohol consumption, vascular malformation, esophageal varicose veins due to alcoholic liver disease or stomach cancer etc.

Sometimes, there are insignificant causes like trauma (may be hard brushing of teeth etc) in the mouth can cause small blood spitting.

We should consult physician if we feel sick and bleeding continues to diagnose the underlying cause.

Answer:
Vomiting blood can be from bleed in the esophagus, a bleeding stomach ulcer, or from the lungs. Usually if the blood is fresh (bright red) it is from coughing too hard or from the esophagus. Drinking too much booze can cause this. If the blood looks like coffee grounds it is from the stomach and is old blood. Bleeding from the lungs will look frothy (bubbly).

Any time someone is vomiting blood, it is cause for concern and should be treated as an emergency.

Answer:
If you have a bleeding ulcer, you can vomit blood. An ulcer in your stomach is literally a hole in the lining of your stomach.

Answer:
Vomiting blood might mean your bleeding internally. you might want to seek immediate medical attention!
