What’s causing the shortness of breath?
Oxygen level is 98

Answer:
shortness of breath (SOB) is a common complaint amongst patients with heart valve issues…strangely enough I dont think it has anything to do with oxygen sats….If it is really bothering the genteleman then he and the Cardiologist may want to consider valve replacement surgery. At 90 yrs of age there are a lot of things to consider before putting the gentleman through such a massive surgery.

Answer:
A leaky heart valve means the heart is unable to pump blood as effectively as it should. Even if there is good oxygenation of the blood, the blood isn't going where it needs to go in an efficient manner.

Therefore, the person feels short of breath.
