Ok so I've had this question in my head FOREVER, but finally decided to ask it. At the homecoming dance at the beginning of this year, for a tiny while my friends and I were directly infront of the speakers. The music was really really loud and had this real evdent beat. after a little while I felt my heart kinda going funny, then my chest started to injured and I had a bit of trouble breathing. i kinda staggered/pushed/ran through everyone to get to the water cool and as far away from the speakers as possible. After some water and not being so close to the music, I was fine, we were never that close to the speakers again, and I haven't experienced that ever before then, or since.

Hi:

It's possible that your heart rate increased momentarily, or that it mis-fired a bit, due to the intensity of the music. You might have quite literally had a bit of “sensory overload”, and drinking the cold water helped to “reset” your rhythm. If you had been eating beforehand, if the room was warm and stuffy, or if you had any alcohol in your system, this could have lead to harmless palpitations (sensation of having an irregular heartbeat) occurring.

The important thing is that it hasn't recurred, so it's unlikely to be serious…but do check with your doctor if you’re concerned.

I am not a super doctor like Dr. Pepper above me, but, I’ll give you my opinion. I don't think so. You might just have had a weird strange sensation.
