Answer:
The closest I have the ability to come up with is Steven Hawking. He actually has a disease of the motor neuron and not the muscle as a primary cause so it isn’t muscular dystrophy by strict criteria. However, it is a disease that would fall under the umbrella of the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Assoc.) so maybe that's close enough.
I don't know of any famous people with true muscular dystrophy…it would be very hard for those with the more severe forms to become celebrities and those with mild forms probably don't advertise it. Jerry Lewis has spent the latter part of his life launching and supporting the MDA…but he doesn't have muscular dystrophy.
