This was prescribed for elevated BP–any recommendations for taking this would be appreciated.
Answer:
Definitely talk to your doctor about it and eat the right foods. I've been on the same medicine for about 4 years, and have had skipping sensations in my heart just recently. When I had blood tests done, my potassium was low, around 2.5. I was given a dose of potassium in the ER. Watch out for any feeling of weakness, muscle spasms, heart skipping/palpitations, or chest pains. If you feel any of these call your dr right away or just get to a hospital quickly. Low potassium isn't something to mess around with.
Answer:
Not everyone on Hct becomes potassium depleted–only about 20%. Eat a balanced diet and include foods rich in potassiium as a matter of course(bannanas, orange juice) and then see how you do.
Answer:
you really do need to get this advice from your DR, don't depend on advise from non medical people.
Answer:
ASK YOUR DOCTOR
