Antibotics?

Author: admin

I was on a course of antibotics three times a day, for a sore throat. I missed an entire day…yesterday and the two doses this day. Should I restart with the night dose tonight or just stop all together. Did I miss too much time? Has anyone done this before?

I don't know if this will affect the infections and promote regrowth of bacteria.

Answer:
You should start taking the rest of you medicine, until they’re gone. If you don't - you could end up sicker than you were. The infection can continue to grow with the stronger bacteria that’s left - making it harder to treat. This is how the resistant forms of staph came along.

What exactly were you taking?

You should restart them and make sure you take one each 8 hours - this will help to maintain the levels in your blood and will help to fight the infection off. You should have been taking it like this (not just three times a day but every 8 hours) That's why I asked. Some anti-biotics you don't have to take a specific time but cephalosporins ( like keflex) you do.

Answer:
All you can do is pick up where you left off and finish the entire prescription. Extend it to cover the missed doses. This might possibly affect the success of the antibiotic therapy but you'll need to report this to your physician.
