i get them every couple of months….i get a doctors prescription & the synptoms go away bu come back!! is is true that i can be allergic to my husbands sperm?

Answer:
I don't think being allergic to husband's sperm would give you urinary tract infection…but a bacterial infection…After you have sex go and make yourself pee..everytime…this is what my doctor always told me to do…and before you have sex, make sure you both are clean down there…I know sometimes that sounds unreasonable..but germs (sweat, urine) can get in you and cause infections…my doctor also told me this. I used to have reoccurring infections also…but this really helped me.

Answer:
You can be allergic to sperm but that's not your problem. Drink plenty of fluids every day, take cranberry supplements or juice every day, urinate immediately after sex and wash if you can, don't wear tight underwear or pants. Spermicides can cause them too so stay away if you're sensitive.

Answer:
you don't get sperm inside your urethra, which is the tube you urinate from, so it is not an allergic reaction. It can be from sex aggravating the area. when you are done with sex, get up, go to the bathroom and then wash the area. no more infections. why do you think they call it honeymooners disease? the other thing is that cranberry juice or juniper berry supplements create an acid environment that makes it harder for the bacteria to stick and grow inside the bladder walls. the cranberry juice has to be the real deal, not solid corn syrup and fructose. hope those suggestions will cure your problem!

Answer:
Not sure about the last part. But some basic precautions may help. Make sure that when you use the restroom you wipe from front to back. Keep bacteria out of your urinary tract. If you swim ect … change out of wet clothes as soon as you can. Also, drinking cranberry juice can help. Hope that helps!

Answer:
Go see an acupuncturist. They can help you get rid of these sx permanently. When I was young I was getting chronic lung infections and the Dr. told me there was nothing that could be done to prevent them. When I went to Chinese Medicine with acupuncture and herbs I got rid of the chronic infections and have been free of them for years.

Answer:
UTI'S suck so bad, I had the same problem. I would get one, get it treated and then I would get another one. What I have done to prevent them is to take cranberry pills and/or drink plenty of cranberry juice. Also, Azo is a good way to prevent them. These things are good to prevent them, not to treat them. So if you don't want to have to go to the doctor all the time, do these things to prevent having to. It has really helped for me.
