Answer:
A cold/flu usually lasts about 7-10 days, depending on just how severe it gets. The flu lasts longer. If you’ve a fever that’s over 100-101 degrees, then you should see a physician. When you’ve a fever, it means you have an infection. The best way to get rid of it is with antibiotics. If you’ve a sore throat or laryngitis, the ideal thing is to rest your voice. Speak as tiny as possible. Also, gargle with salt water, use throat sprays such as Chloraseptic to relieve throat pain or cough drops can help.
If you’re coughing up any greenish phlegm or mucus, then see the doctor, because that's a sign of a bronchial infection. If not, then use cough syrup. There are different kinds depending on the kind of cough you have, so get what helps the type of cough you’ve, and use cough drops. Sometimes a hot steamy shower will help loosen up a cough. Just sit or stand with the water running for about 15-20 minutes at a time. It will help with a cough, bring down a fever and taking a shower will just make you feel superior.
Usually congestion, cough, sore throat and fever are the most common symptoms with a cold/flu. How long it lasts depends on how severe the symptoms are, and in you’ve any kind of infection. The first 3-4 days you will feel bad, sick and run down, no energy. If you take medications and do things to break up the congestion and cough or stop the sore throat, the sooner you’ll feel better.
Most important, if you have a fever over 100-101 degrees, go to a doctor as soon as possible. The best way to get rid of an infection is with antibiotics. Also, take Tylenol to reduce any fevers or if you feel any aches or pains due to the cold/flu. The other symptoms can be treated with over the counter medications and home remedies. Most important, get a lot of rest, eat light meals like soups, crackers, peanut butter, etc., srink plenty of fluifs, like water, juice, Gatorade, etc., and you should begin feeling superior.
Ideal of luck and hope you feel better. Hope I helped.
Answer:
I have got full sympathy with you. you’ll recover soon.Viral diseases are having number of viral strains, if your body's immunity is good,it will react, but as far as question of recurrence it can not be predicted as our body system don't have development of immunity against all viral strains.Don't worry at all . this all will soon vanish.Hope you must be taking symptomatic treatment, if not begin immediately.
Answer:
Normally cold and flu symptoms last 2 weeks, but there are some strains that last only a couple days and some that seem to last for months.
Drink lots of water and juices and get plenty of rest to help your body fight off the virus that has attacked you.
The herb echinacea seems to help lots of viral infections. Find it at a health foods store.
Mint tea might help too, it always makes my daughter feel superior.
