I was bit yesterday by what i know now is an american dog tick. I did not know what it was when I 1st saw it as I had never seen a tick before. I tried to brush this bug off then when it didn’t brush off I grabbed it and flung it off me. I know this isn’t the proper removal technique but as i said I did not know when I did it. Now I think I got the whole thing- Is there a way to tell? Would the tick still be alive if it did not have the head? (I have it in a sealed container and it is very alive). I believe I got it very early like within an hour maybe 2 tops of getting on me. Do I need to worry a lot about these diseases I’ve read about lyme and mountain disease. I live in florida if that makes a diff. I’m freaking out! You can barely see where it bit me. Anyone, please help. Thanks :)

Answer:
The chances of you getting a disease from that tick are nearly zero. So close to zero that you shouldn't spend another minute worrying about it.

Answer:
first you need to go to the physician.

Try puting some vaselene on it.

if you put vasaline on it it will back out of you skin if its still in there.

see ticks breathe out of there butts.

so if you suffocate them they’ll back out.

but you should still go to the doctor

Answer:
I would urge you to take the tick to your physician, he has the ability to tell you if the tick is infested with lyme's disease, and he can also tell you if you “got it all”.

Answer:
See the “Lyme 101″ section of the following website:
