I have had a cough for over a week with some wheezing. I have also been coughing up a lot of phlem. (It's clear though. Eww, gross I know.) I'm really scared of the lung pain because I don't know what it could be. I smoke quite a bit of pot daily. I quit cigs. I don't know if this is related to being sick or related to the smoking. Needless to say I'm scared and worried. Any thoughts on what I have? Keep in mind that the pain is severe.

Answer:
Allright! You say you have been having cough for over a week and have been coughing up phlegm. Keeping in mind that the pain is severe you will have to be bold and brave and see a doctor, who should first and foremost take an x-ray of the chest. Smoking as you do there may be a chance of a partial (slight pneumo-thorax) or emphysema or even bronchitis. Now most people take bronchitis very lightly but it can lead to several serous problems I would not like to mention now. You have every reason to be worried and scared but then how long will you go on like this. If the pain comes with breathing or intensifies with deep breathing you should not wait a single more minute. A sputum culture, urinalaysis, and blood complete profile will give your doctor a better picture of your condition. Go to the doctor, and go now. Don't wait a minute more. Stop that stuff. Take 500 mg of vit.C with breakfast and lunch and a good multi-vitamin. Take at least two glasses of fat free or 1 per cent vit. D milk. You will feel a whole world better. And the whole world will feel better too. And so would I. I wish you the best . I wish you had mentioned whether you had been a heavy smoker, which I feel is the case. Best wishes.

Answer:
It could be pneumonia, then again, it could also be muscular.

Have you got temperature?

To be honest, the best way to get an answer is not here, but going to a doctor and getting an x-ray of your chest. That will show wether you have any kind of laceration in your lungs due to scarring caused by smoking, or if you have fluid from pneumonia.

Hope you get well soon!

Answer:
pleurisy

????

just a guess of course…co-worker was diagnosed with this

Answer:
You were abducted by aliens and the transmitter they implanted in your brain has slipped into your lung. Stand outside naked on the night of the next waning moon and they'll be back to fix it.

If the pain is that serious, you'd be at the doctor's office and not on Y!A. Stop asking internet people to give you medical advice!

Answer:
First - quit smoking pot

Second - If you can tell it's your lungs, you probably need to see a doctor.

If for some reason you can't, you may want to put all your symptoms in WebMd.com, and see what they come up with.

Answer:
Well you probably have acute bronchitis/pneumonia. You need to go to a Dr obviously and get some antibiotics, they'll prob put you on an inhaler as well. And possibly even steroids. So STOP smoking so much pot. Everyone I know that does that has terrrrrrible lung issues. It is worse than cigs despite the "facts" from pot heads. So go to a Dr. Lay off the pot (for good hopefully) or you're in for some serious lung issues in the future if not already. I hope you feel better soon and get clean.

Answer:
=( im not trying to scare you or anything but do NOT smoke pot or anything unhealthy, i think you are getting lung cancer… go to a doctor immediately to do a check-up. if you feel it's really hard to quit smoking pots then chew gum. =) good luck!! hope this helps =)

Answer:
pot has several times more chemicals in it that unfiltered cigarette smoke. You may be allergic to something in the pot smoke (bummer) that is causing a "Pneumonia" type condition.

No matter what this is a problem. See a doctor.

Answer:
may have pneumonia , collapsed lung / infection or may be associated to the pot you smoke I don't smoke pot so can't tell you that for sure, Need to quit smoking pot not good for you

Answer:
Sorry girl, sounds like a infection on the pulmonary tubes, not in the lung…Because it hurts when you breath and the phlem is clear, it is a clear irritation of of lung tubes.

Eventually they will colapse and you will affixiate on your own blood.

Seek medical attention soon and have them do a trac-sonar exam to see the punctures

Answer:
quit praising Ja with da herb mon.

and if thats not possible, stop smoking joints. that is the harshest form of smoking herb. don't hit the pipe either.

use a bong, its a lot smoother, but be sure to take little hits. don't try to be da man about it and clear the bowl, cause it hurts. and you usually end up coughing after a hit, cause you ain't da man. Ha.

as i'm sure you know stay away from the stems and seeds.

i don't smoke herb anymore, i grew up and have two kids of my own and have to set an example. (no offense, everyone has their vices), but i did smoke it everyday for about 12 years. i was susceptible to bronchitis. which caused lung cheese, and sore lungs from coughing all the time.

GO TO THE DOCTORS it will only get worse.

they won't turn you in for smoking weed. they see it all. and they know that there is worse out there.

just don't go in high.

good luck

Answer:
I think your symptoms warrant more evaluation. It could be pneumonia as suggested or a more serious possibility is a pulmonary embolus (blood clot). If you are on birth control and smoking you are at higher risk. Have you had trouble breathing? Fast pulse? Pain with deep inspiration?

Give yourself one point for any of the following that fit:

Do you have;

Active Cancer

Recent immoblization: long plane/car ride

Bedridden more than 3 days in last 4 weeks

Tenderness in calf

Legs swollen, one side more than another

Superficial veins in your legs (that aren't varicose)

Yes for 2 is moderate and 3 or more is high risk for clot and should be further evaluated.

If you went into the doctors office or ER they would probably get an x-ray and check a blood test that can help determine if clot are likely. If the blood test looked bad they would do some CT scans with contrast.

Answer:
Do you want to regain your health or just get relief?

If you are scared and worried, as you have said, then

get off the pot!

Then, go seek out a Naturepath and he/she will help you.

Good Luck

Answer:
Yeah go to the doctors asap and start cooking your pot, cook it in butter and make cakes.
