I’ve pneumonia and my Dr. told me I need to rest and take care of myself. They wanted to hospitalize me but I convinced them to let me stay home. I'm supposed to be in a wedding on 03/28–do you think in a week, I might be well enough or should I let the bride know I cannot attend as a precaution? I obviously shouldn't go if I'm contagious?
Answer:
As they wanted to hospitalize you I think you have serious infection. They might have wanted to give antibiotics by injection rather than tablets. It would have been superior as you would have recovered faster that way.
Anyway as you are superior with tablets I am sure you’ll be OK. Another five days I’m sure you will feel better enough to attend the wedding if needed. If you are not coughing it is not prone to spread to others. But if you’re coughing do not go for the wedding as it can be spread to others. It will take at least 2 weeks for complete recovery. So continue the antibiotics as long as the physician advised and go for review according to appointment.
Answer:
After that long on the antibiotics you should be feeling well enough to attend. But, and this is a huge but, Don't drink avoid places where people are smoking, and stay only as long as custom allows. Then get back to bed and stay there. Your body needs all the rest it can get.
The only other consideration is contagion. You could possibly be still contagious, if it is what it usually is a viral pneumonia.Just don't go near people.
Now you have the facts, you make up your mind.
God bless.
Answer:
you might feel a tiny better but I doubt that you’ll be fully recovered. Let her know your situation and maybe worst case scenario, someone can stand in for you that’s around your size or they can take the dress in or out. you might even be able to just be there for the ceremony which is only about a half an hour or so and then just go home.
Answer:
Pneumonia should be taken seriously. You’ll need all the rest possible, you might not be okay in a week from now, and could relapse, don't risk it!
I'm sure she will understand!
