Over the last few months there have been a few sinus problems. Had to have a few different antibiotics, kind of worked but didn't really feel that much better until the 2nd course.

After that I got better for a few weeks, then some symptoms came back, but not as bad (before, my temperature was 37.8 - 38.3 C and very bad fever and malaise, now it's been between 36.8 - 37.7C, it's mostly about 37.1C and I don't feel almost as bad)

But, my doctor was worried about it been a bad sinus infection again, so he gave me antibiotics. They didn't work at all and made me worse (severe diarrhea, bad headaches, anxiety etc..) So he stated it was time to leave them, and has just now prescribed me a 1 month course of Sudafed Decongestant Tablets…

My problem is though, is that for about a month, the inside of my right nostril is really swollen. The left-side you can see and reach all the way up through the nose, the right-side, you can see it's all red and swollen and you see and reach all the way up, due to the swelling… It gives me a bit of pain sometimes across the nose, and if you push inside of my nose it feels soft and kind of bouncy hehe.

Im just wondering what on earth this is? Doctor said it isn't polyps.
Is it an allergy? Infection? Shouldn't I then need some anti-histamine/steroid spray?

Thanksxx

P.S im 20/female.

Hi,

I’m experiencing similar problem. My right side of nasal passage is very sore and swollen. I went to dr on Friday and he prescribed me Cipro 500 mg to be taken twice a day. Also taking Claritin D. It was so bad in beginning it made my right ear ache also my gums were painful. Much superior on 3rd day of antibiotics. Try another doctor and maybe have an xray. Hope this helps and that you feel better soon. He looked in my chart and noticed I was there same time last year for same thing, sinus infection, Im in Florida and found out I was allergic to pollen and oak. Take care.

Answer:
I had swollen and a bit ac king nasal passage in my left side of my nose for about a week. It is getting superior as of now. It might be due to allergy or bad hygiene during nose digging or cleaning, I’ve had allergic problem on my nose in the past, symptoms were like sinus headache and pressure. But just can not rule out bad hygiene due to nose digging which could have caused the infection.

Hope you get well soon!
