I always have trouble breathing at night. I always take deep breaths out of habit now because I'm trying to get a good breath but somehow I don't feel satisfied with the air. I get anxious and feel like I'm going to run out of air at any minute. I had asthma when I was younger but now it's just not really a problem. I told the doctor and she just gave me an inhaler but not even that helps. Is there any reason why this happens? I'm healthy and only 17. And also this mostly happens at night.
Answer:
sleep apnea? I don't know if that is how you spell it, but it is a condition when you stop breathing at night. I had it, got my tonsils out, and I’m fine now. Ask your doctor to check your tonsils and see if they are too huge, they may be getting in the way of your breathing
Answer:
The fact that you say this only happens at night makes me think it could be allergies as some plants/flowers bloom or come out in night air. See Doc and see if he can run some allergy tests for you, good luck.
PS- You also mentioned you get anxious.Could you’ve anxiety? Maybe check that out too.
Answer:

Answer:
Do you lie on your back, stomach, or side? Try sleeping on your back using two pillows so your upper body is slightly elevated. When you get anxious, it might cause you to hyperventilate (take short, shallow breaths). The remedy for that’s to breathe into a paper bag until you feel calm - just cover your nose and mouth with a paper lunch bag and take slow, calm breaths.
This doesn't sound like sleep apnea. In general, middle-aged men with massive bellies suffer from that disorder.
Maybe you're allergic to something? Depending upon where you live, allergies could cause a feeling of breathlessness.
