Answer:
for boils; On average most boils will heal themselves within two weeks. In the majority of cases, boils can be healed swiftly with self-care.3 If your boil lasts for longer than two weeks, talk to your physician.4
Here are some ways to treat your boil:
(Creative Commons photo by Thomas D)MedicineNet states to apply moist heat to the boil with a hot pack or a warm, wet washcloth. This increases circulation to the area and brings in antibodies and white blood cells to fight off the infection.2
Do this for 20 to 30 minutes, a couple of times each day.2
Aetna recommends covering the boil with a clean bandage to protect the infected area.5
This will also prevent the boil from accidentally being punctured.5
And if pus drains, it can be absorbed.5
Wash the area daily with antibacterial soap, advises Aetna. You don't want that infection to spread!5
You might want to consider taking an antibiotic that kills staph bacteria. Doing so can heal a boil faster, especially in children, states the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.3
Antibiotics require a prescription from your doctor.
MedicineNet suggests you avoid draining the boil when it's small and firm, even if it's painful.2
Once it becomes softer, or develops a small pustule (known as “forming a head”), it'll be ready to drain. Usually, they do so on their own.2
Avoid lancing the boil yourself, you might spread the infection.2
According to MedicineNet, if the boil is large, it might need to be drained or looked at by a medical practitioner. 2
Healing Daily states to be very careful once the pus starts draining out of the boil. It is contagious and will spread to other parts of your body or to other people if it's not washed properly.1
Always remember to keep the area clean and dry, cautions Aetna. Cover it with pieces of soft cloth or gauze.5

For spot'
spot removal does require patience.

You will often need to use a treatment for a few weeks before the benefits of treatment are noticeable.

However it should be worth it in the long run as the treatments usually help.
