can i still give oral if i occasionally get a cold sore/canker sore in my mouth? or will they get it on their privates lol

i know its herpes simplex 1 but i've never really done anything sexual soooo…

Answer:
First of all, a Canker sore is Not a Cold Sore.

They’re 2 different things. Cold sores (usually Herpes Simplex 1) almost always erupt around the lips of your mouth, on the outside.

Canker sores are sores INSIDE your mouth, usually on the gums or inside of your lips.

If you have a cold sore, and perform Oral Sex on your partner, you’re putting your partner in risk of acquiring the disease. There is no question about it, do NOT give oral sex to your partner when you are having a Herpes Attack .

Remember it is possible to catch Herpes Simplex 1 or 2, in either place. You can have Herpes (HSV1) on your genitals, and it is also possible to have “genital herpes” (HSV2) on your mouth.

Answer:
It isn’t as prone to spread to the genitals, but you can definitely give your partner this virus if you give oral sex while you’ve a sore. Avoid it. For your partner's sake. He'll appreciate it.

Herpes simplex 1 on the genitals is still a life-long and spreadable STD, so avoid the act for now. See your physician for treatments and more advice.

Good question; ideal of luck.

Answer:
Unfortunately I also get cold sores. I’ve since I was like seven. I was always told that as long as you don't perform oral sex while you’ve an outbreak or think you might be getting one. (I feel like that commercial lol) you should be fine. I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years and given him oral sex numerous times, but never when I had a cold sore and neither one of us has the genital form of herpes.

Answer:
Ha they just talked about this last night on Dr.Drews show.

YES they have the ability to spread.

Answer:
If you do have a cole soar then it will most likely give the other person genitaal warts so its best if you dont :)
